Pregnancy is characterized by many biological and psychosocial changes. The Brabant Study is a large longitudinal cohort study in collaboration with different departments in psychological research of Tilburg University. The aim is to investigate the association of biological changes during pregnancy (with special interest in thyroid function) and obstetric complications. Moreover, personality traits, attachment style, pregnancy distress and social changes with regard to partner relationship and work in the perinatal period will be further investigated. Currently, up to 4000 women are being recruited in the South of the Netherlands.
